Last night’s episode of Glee was very heavy with the death of a pivotal character in the series. Now that there’s only one episode left, we’re seeing the season 2 finish line! Check out what John and Mason have to say about last night’s “Funeral” episode!

A short summary of last night’s episode:

New Directions continues to strategize their set list for Nationals with a little help from Jessie St. James. Meanwhile, Sue unexpectedly loses her older sister Jean. Kurt and Finn step forward and offer to help Sue set up funeral arrangements. The Glee club performs Jean’s favorite song “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Finn breaks up with Quinn after realizing he loves Rachel. But it wasn’t quick enough, Jesse St. Stupid James sneaked in a kiss and is now courting Rachel. And that’s what you missed on GLEE.

John‘s Thoughts:

Last night’s episode was one of the heaviest of the series. After reading Twitter and Facebook reactions, it seems like it wasn’t a fan-favorite of many. I think people turn to Glee for fun and happy singing and dancing (I mean it is called Glee afterall), and were left hoping for more.

Though I didn’t hate the episode, I just feel like such a heavy episode at the end of the season was a bit out of place. There is only one more episode left and I want to be on the couch jumping up and down!! Not sitting on the couch holding back tears because my friends are around and I’m an ugly crier.

What did you think of last night’s episode? Was it too heavy for you?

John’s After Thoughts:

Mason‘s Thoughts:

I thought last night’s episode was exactly what the show could use. It really let the viewers once again see the soft side of Sue Sylvester and it’s always nice to see that she is in fact, a caring person. It’s just unfortunate that her sister had to die for it to happen.

I feel like the episode didn’t really do much for the plot of the show and the Jesse St. James character does nothing but piss me off. I see next episode being the last episode he’ll ever be on and Rachel & Finn ending up with each other. I don’t understand how Will Schuester can sit there and let Jesse verbally rip his Glee Club apart.
