Yesterday, I had the privilege of live-blogging (tweeting) the Glee panel at Comic-Con directly from the Indigo Ballroom itself! Check out this round-up of all the major details and moments of the panel!

Before the panel started they aired this fan-made YouTube video for the entire room, which frankly had myself and a couple others a bit emotional! It’s not only an amazing montage video but it really captures the essence and amazingness (is that a word) of Glee in so many different ways. Kevin even gave “Mario” (the creator) a shout out during the panel, thanking him for his efforts. Check out the video here:

So regarding the panel itself. Frankly, it was a lot of what we already know. Lea was asked how she handled the filming of the Finchel breakup to which she responded that she was mad that it happened at first, but then came to terms with it because she knew it was Finn showing that he loves her. Brad Falchuk then went on to say it was a really sad scene to write.

Falchuk then let everyone in on the fact that Kurt will in fact be in Lima when season 4 starts. Whether or not he stays there is for us to find out later in the season. The way Falchuk explained it made it seem as though Kurt may eventually find his way to NYC, saying “Kurt and Rachel are best friends.”

There was a lot of talk about hair. Ian Brennan noted that they were going to shave Cory Monteith’s hair next week (in regards to his entering the Army) to which Cory asked the crowd if they wanted to see him shave his head. The crowd unanimously screamed and booed that Cory should definitely keep his hair. Lea interjected by saying the real issue is Darren Criss’ beard saying, “Shaving Darren’s beard is more important than season 4.” Darren went on to plead laziness saying this is his third or fourth beard of the summer.

Brennan went on to say that the McKinley High New Directions will be underdogs yet again. They won Nationals and that was fun for a few minutes, but now they’re back to square one.

Naya went on to talk about how much she loves the Brittana fandom. She seemed very honest and maybe even a bit emotional when talking about the fans. I’m not sure if that came across in the live blog. I wrote in the live blog that Naya said, “I hope they make it!” regarding the relationship status of Brittany and Santana. She said this passively and not in a worrisome tone that would allude to any sort of issues. She is just truthfully rooting for them.

Darren then talked about the Klaine fans and his perspective saying that “We all want to see them together as long as possible,” but also admits that a long distance relationship could potentially shake things up.

Falchuk didn’t reveal any music during the panel, but we found this little spoiler out last night. He says that there will be some classic rock mixed with modern just as before. We also learned that the Britney Spears tribute episode will be the second episode of the season. If you want to know a spoiler about that episode click here!

On the topic of music, Lea admits that both she and Naya want to sing Robyn’s dance hit “Dancing On My Own.” As a huge Robyn fan, particularly of this song, I got chills when she said this. Darren said that he wonders if “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen will be on the show and is a bit worried that he may have to sing it. He did not confirm that this song would be on the show, but just used it as an example, despite what other blogs/sites are reporting. Lea also says that she told Ryan Murphy that she wanted to sing the Celine Dion song, “To Love You More,” and that Ryan came to her and said something along the lines of “You got your song!” Unfortunately, the Celine song Ryan got was “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now.” Lea admitted to playing nice and being polite about honoring the request.

At one point, a fan asked whether or not Glee will start making Jewish heritage more than just a punchline of a joke, to which the creators said they never really thought of it that way. Darren chimed in and said that the reason he is growing a beard is because he is going to play a rabbi in season 4. Some fans interpreted this literally, but I can assure you that it was just a joke! The whole panel and the room were laughing hysterically.

Falchuk says that Will and Emma are doing well and that they are engaged and doing dirty things. I swear I read somewhere (and reported on Hypable) Ryan Murphy exclaiming that Will and Emma will not be getting married. If you’re reading this and know what I’m talking about, leave it in the comments below! Speaking of dirty things, a fan asked Lea if she would be comfortable doing sexual scenes with Quinn or Santana if the script called for it. The crowd roared at this question to which Lea responded that it seems like the next natural progression now that Rachel is single again. She also said, “Never say never with Glee.” This was another response from Lea that people may have read wrong. She said everything in jest and the crowd loved it and laughed along with her.

Lea also said that she and Darren would “love to do a little cabaret together in L.A.” This was awfully specific to me. I suspect they are working on something like this so keep an eye on Hypable for an announcement sometime before the summer is over, maybe.

Naya talked a little bit about her solo album, saying that she is working hard on it and that she has a first single. She even told the room that the first single is called “My Heart” and it’s a dance/pop song. Kevin chimed in and said that it is amazing! The crowd was especially excited about this.

In one of the more interesting moments of the panel, a fan specifically asked the writers why Klaine was the only couple who didn’t get a close-up kissing shot after Nationals. Before any of them could respond, producer Dante DiLorento interjected (somewhat defnesively) that there were over 100 takes of multiple scenes and that they were dealing with a ton of extras that day and that they simply can’t please everyone. While there is definitely truth to this, DiLorento’s tone was definitely defensive and maybe even a tad annoyed by the question. The tone of the room changed instantly as if we, as fans, were being scolded for asking for what we want. People around me were audibly annoyed and let down not only by the answer but the way in which DiLorento went about explaining it, saying “It’s an impossible task to make you happy.” The room fell silent as if we were being punished, and we moved on to the next topic. This was particularly interesting because later in the panel DiLorento said something along the lines that this show is a living organism between the fans and the production. Falchuk also backed up DiLorento saying that Kurt hates PDA so that’s why it wasn’t in there. Oh, okay! Thanks for clearing that one right up!

Those were pretty much all of the most interesting details from the panel! It was really exciting and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun for the most part!

We’ll have a gallery of images from the event for you later today as well!
