After this week’s shocking and emotional episode of Glee, one character said goodbye to McKinley High School. But is this for good? Major spoilers about this week’s episode “Shooting Star” ahead!

So you managed to get through “Shooting Star.” Congratulations. It was a tough one. At the end of the very emotional and sadly very realistic episode, we find out that it was indeed Sue’s gun that went off during the traumatizing incident. Speaking with Principal Figgins, Sue says that she was getting it out of her safe when it accidentally went off twice.

However, we find out at the very end of the episode that Sue was actually covering up for Becky, who had brought a gun to school in desperation about her future after McKinley. However, no one knows this, and Sue takes the blame, Figgins basically fires her and she packs up her things and tells Ryder on her way out of the school that she “doesn’t work here anymore.”

So is that it? Is this the end of the line for Jane Lynch and Sue Silvester? In the preview for next week’s episode we find out Roz Washington (played by Real Housewives of Atlanta and The New Normal star Nene Leakes) will be taking over for the Cheerios. Unconfirmed sources say that no, Jane Lynch won’t be leaving Glee anytime soon. Could this be a possible setup for season 5? Are the writers of Glee trying to keep Sue on the show but move it away from Lima? What is McKinley High School and the Glee Club without Sue as the main antagonist!? Only time will tell in this case.

Our prediction is that Sue isn’t going anywhere. Glee always redeems characters who have done the right thing. At some point investigators will find that the gun didn’t belong to Sue, and that it was somehow linked to Becky, right? That’s what would happen in the real world – whether or not Glee addresses that is another issue. We predict Sue will be reinstated when it is uncovered that she actually has a heart and was covering for the well-being of Becky.

What are your thoughts about Sue leaving McKinley? Do you think she did the right thing in covering for Becky? If Sue’s not at McKinley, what other way could you see her being a part of the show? Leave your thoughts about the potential end of the line for Sue in the comments below!
