In the wake of the Glee series finale, we take a look at some of the most exciting new projects that the show’s regulars have lined up for the future.

It’s official. Glee is over. The emotional series finale aired on Friday night, with a conclusion that looked five years into the future towards Rachel’s first Tony win, Sam coaching the glee club, and Kurt and Blaine becoming parents. The final songs were sung, the final tears were shed, and now it’s time to look forward. Glee projected many of its stars to household name status, but what’s next for these actors? We take a look at where to see some of your favorite Glee cast members in the upcoming months.

The extended cast of Glee, including series regulars, recurring characters and guest stars, is frankly massive, so we’ve narrowed this down to the most interesting currently-announced projects from the varying regulars of the past six seasons. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with any major news from the Glee cast in the future!

Dianna Agron — Quinn

Dianna Agron will be making her West End debut this summer in McQueen, a new play about the fashion designer Alexander McQueen and a deluded fan, Dahlia, who breaks into his house. The show — which contains nudity and adult themes! — premieres at London’s St James Theatre on May 12. Agron also has five, count ‘em, five movies in various stages of release: Zipper, about a potential Congressman with a sex scandal; Tumbledown, a romantic comedy about a young widow; Bare, a dark lesbian coming of age film; Headlock, in which she plays a former CIA operative; and A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island, a thriller about cyber attacks threatening the economy.

Melissa Benoist — Marley

Melissa Benoist will soon be back on our screens as the star of Supergirl, the next of Greg Berlanti’s DC-universe TV adaptations. Her character, Kara Danvers, is a Kryptonian who must learn to embrace her powers. Supergirl is filming now and is expected to premiere on CBS in the Fall 2015 television season. Benoist has also filmed supporting roles in the new Nicholas Sparks movie The Longest Ride, in the Al Pacino-led rockstar drama Danny Collins, and in Band of Robbers, a modern thriller retelling of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.

Chris Colfer — Kurt

Chris Colfer has been lined up to star in Noel, the British Film Institute’s Noel Coward biopic, for nearly a year, and the movie’s production company recently hinted that it looks like things will be kicking off now that Colfer is free of Glee. Colfer is also hard at work on The Land of Stories, his bestselling series of children’s fantasy novels. The fourth volume of his five-book deal is set to be published later this year, and Colfer usually does book signing tours for these releases, so fans may get the chance to see him at an in store appearance — if he isn’t too busy portraying one of the 20th century’s greatest writers and gay icons.

Darren Criss – Blaine

Darren Criss will be trading hair gel for wigs in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Criss takes over the role of the transgender rocker on April 29 — previous Hedwigs include Andrew Rannells, Michael C. Hall, Neil Patrick Harris — who picked up the Tony for this role — and the show’s creator, John Cameron Mitchell. You can currently hear, if not see, Criss on the Cartoon Network — he’s voicing the lead character of Sideswipe on their new Transformers series, Transformers: Robots In Disguise. Criss also recently performed in a read-through of the musical adaptation of 17 Again, which is presently in development. He played Mike O’Donnell (the Zac Efron character) — could originating this role on Broadway be his next step after Hedwig?

Blake Jenner — Ryder

Blake Jenner landed the leading role in That’s What I’m Talking About, the newest film project from director/screenwriter Richard Linklater. Linklater’s last movie, Boyhood, got a slew of Oscar nominations, so no pressure, dude! That’s What I’m Talking About is a comedy-drama about college baseball, set in the 1980s, and Jenner plays the team’s newest recruit who struggles to keep up with their hedonistic lifestyle. Teen Wolf fans will also want to keep an eye on this project — it co-stars Tyler Hoechlin, sporting a god-awful moustache. Jenner has also filmed parts in Crawlspace, a thriller, and Billy Boy, about a young man who is born into the wrong life.

Jane Lynch — Sue

Jane Lynch was recently cast alongside Psych alum Maggie Lawson in a new CBS pilot, Angel from Hell, a half-hour comedy about a highly-strung woman approached by another lady claiming to be her guardian angel. Lynch will play Amy, the “angel” in question, who could be considered just an average crazy person until every one of her predictions comes true. She’s also putting on See Jane Sing, a cabaret-style musical/comedy/variety show that she is currently touring nationally. See Jane Sing co-stars Lynch’s pal co-stars Kate Flannery (best known for her role as Meredith Palmer on The Office) and Tim Davis, the vocal coordinator for Glee.

Jayma Mays — Emma

Jayma Mays will next appear in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp. This Netflix series is a prequel to the 2001 satirical comedy film Wet Hot American Summer, and will star most of the movie’s original cast, including Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Janeane Garofalo and Bradley Cooper. Mays is not one of the original team, but has a small role throughout the prequel series. Speaking about the show, she says: “I’m so excited. It’s a super teeny part, but I was so excited to be asked to do it. I love that movie. It has such a cult following. All the people in that film… I mean, they were funny then but what they’ve gone on to do now is just incredible. The cast is absolutely incredible.”

Kevin McHale — Artie

Kevin McHale will next appear in Boychoir, a drama about a troubled child at an elite choral music academy. He plays a teacher in the film and stars alongside Dustin Hoffman and Eddie Izzard. The film is set for release next month and already looks like a Whiplash-esque award show candidate. McHale, a known Anglophile, is currently in London filming the third series of Virtually Famous, the British comedy panel show he hosts for E4. He’s also rumored to star in They Might Be Kennedys, a based-on-a-true-story comedy about two deadbeats who pretend to be related to the Kennedy family. Wikipedia claims that McHale has a solo album, Gemini, coming out this year, but this info seems to lack back-up sources… we’ll cross our fingers though!

Lea Michele — Rachel

Lea Michele may have said goodbye to Glee, but she’s sticking with showrunner Ryan Murphy for a little longer — she’s starring alongside Abigail Breslin, Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts in Murphy’s new series, Scream Queens. The horror-comedy currently being filmed in New Orleans. This is a non-singing role for Lea and sounds like a pretty big departure: “Yesterday when I showed up on set, no one recognized me or even knew who I was. We have the same crew from ‘Glee.’ Hair and makeup and wardrobe and some of the camera guys. No one could even recognize me! Someone compared my character to Charlize Theron in ‘Monster.'”

Matthew Morrison — Will

Matthew Morrison is another cast member making a return to the Great White Way. He’s starring as Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie in the Broadway transfer of Finding Neverland — a role originated by Johnny Depp in the film and by Jeremy Jordan for the American Repertory Theater. Finding Neverland recently started previews, and officially opens on April 15. We recently got our first glimpse of the musical in a segment on ABC news. Morrison also has a movie coming out, After The Reality, about a reality-show contestant who experiences a huge life upheaval while filming.

Alex Newell — Unique

Alex Newell is making waves as a vocal artist right now. As well as numerous live performances, including a stand-out moment at this week’s GLAAD Awards, he recently released his first single, a cover of house classic “Show Me Love.” The track was favorably reviewed by MTV: “Alex’s talent hearkens back to the masters of the genre — Robin S., CeCe Peniston, Martha Wash — in a way I haven’t quite heard in this wave of house revival. It takes a certain kind of vocal excellence to produce ballad-level vocals over a frenetic dance beat, and Newell has totally got it.” He also provided vocals for Clean Bandit’s upcoming single “Stronger” — an impressive credit, given the top ten success of the band’s 2014 single “Rather Be.” It seems Newell is one to watch as a bone fide popstar.

Harry Shum, Jr — Mike

Harry Shum, Jr will be using his superior skill at physical movement in upcoming martial arts film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon II: The Green Legend. The film, which was shot in New Zealand and China, is a sequel to 2000’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which was a massive box office success and a visual spectacle. He also starred in the recent release Revenge of the Green Dragons, a drama about the Chinese immigrant underworld, and completed work on Fire City: The Interpreter of Signs, a “demon noir” fantasy horror that was funded on Kickstarter.
