Girls season 4 will be here before you know it and HBO has an exclusive look behind the scenes at what fans can expect from the new season this January!

In the extended Girls Season 4: Invitation to Set video, creator Lena Dunham takes fans through the journey for each character in season 4. Some motives are explained, the status of each relationship is laid out, and you will have a much better sense of where we will find everyone when the show returns January 11.

With Hannah leaving for Iowa in the opening of the season it will be interesting to see where Adam’s new found freedom takes him. He enjoyed his success on stage and found that there were other things in life that could be as fulfilling as his relationship with Hannah. She may still be a huge part of his life, and we can tell that he is still a major part of hers, but watching Adam apart from Hannah is great way to kick off his story arc for season 4.

Also, as Dunham explains, do not eat quesadillas and expect to flop backwards over a couch.

Marnie’s ambition to be an instant success in the burgeoning New York café/bar scene is admirable. But her non-musical actions with her writing and performing partner deserve a bit of questioning. Dunham takes a step in Marnie’s corner to put the character’s actions in perspective. Let’s just hope the songs aren’t too cringe worthy this season.

Shoshanna may have the most relatable story arc for the target audience this season. Fresh out of college, stars in her eyes for a magical career handed to her on a silver platter, only to be met with an inbox void of replies to her resumé. As a pet project Shosh will help Ray transform himself into a confident person who will run for local office. From the clips this will perhaps be one of the most interesting relationships to watch transform from awkward romance to genuine friendship.

As for Jessa, well, she is still Jessa. Just as lost and “worldly” as she was in season 3, another season will arrive for her to make some new choices and try yet again to figure out where she needs to be right now.

If none of this intrigues you, at least you can watch Lena Dunham and Andrew Rannells go crazy at a fraternity party!

Girls season 4 returns Sunday, January 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET on HBO.
