Ray’s election is fast approaching and in one final push to make his voice heard by the community he is hosting a party. Friends gather around to show their support, but their news may steal Ray’s thunder on tonight’s Girls season 4, episode 9, “Daddy Issues.”

Marnie and Desi’s financial problems made a swift change from a reason to breakup to a reason to get married. Shoshanna and Ray tried to handle his personal campaign with honesty and integrity on the city streets, but the honesty of their personal lives pushes them further away from each other. Speaking of honesty, Hannah’s father Tad is finally opening up to his wife after years of holding on to a secret. He is gay.

As we know, Hannah is not the best person to deal with crises that affect her in anyway. Following the announcement that her father is gay, Hannah will once again be tested to see if she can maintain some air of maturity about her. Ray’s dream of being a community board member may be closer to coming true, but with Marnie’s ring finger now taken, his hopes of one day winning her heart are becoming more hazy. Jessa’s plan to release Ace from Mimi Rose’s clutches will play out as the two couples get better acquainted over dinner. We’re sure Adam is looking forward to seeing his good buddy Ace again!
