Hannah takes on graduate school on tonight’s all new Girls season 4, episode 2, “Triggering.” Hannah’s money may go farther in Iowa, but what about her writing? This week will be very Hannah centric, but expect a few familiar faces to make an appearance.

The season premiere of Girls season 4 gave a breakdown of each characters’ current state. Hannah is prepping for her departure to Iowa. Adam is pursuing his acting career, but mediocre bookings are wearing him thin. Shoshanna is about to toss the safety net of school aside and join the work force. Jessa’s work with Beedie, that almost ended in an assisted suicide last season, is at an end when her daughter comes to take her home. Marnie and Desi are full steam ahead with their music and romantic entanglements.

Hannah might as well be on Mars on this week’s episode. In the Midwest the air is crisp and the apartments are huge. But what happens when her fellow writers are less than receptive to her writing? In addition to trying to make new connections, Hannah needs to find ways to keep in touch with everyone she left behind. An old friend from New York shows up just in time to make matters a little less horrible for Hannah.
