HBO has just announced the premiere dates for Girls season 3, True Detective, and Looking.

The series premiere of True Detective starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson is set for January 12 at 9 p.m. eastern. Girls season 3 will follow at 10 p.m. with two (Charlie-less) all-new episodes.

Dunham also announced Girls‘ date in a cute Instagram:

In addition, the new HBO show Looking (a gay Girls spinoff of sorts) starring Jonathan Groff, Frankie J. Alvarez, and Murray Bartlett will premiere one week later on Sunday, January 19 at 10:30 p.m. eastern. This means Girls and Looking will be airing back-to-back throughout their respective seasons in early 2014.

The official synopsis for Looking: “The series revolves around three friends in San Francisco who explore the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men. Created by Michael Lannan and executive produced by Andrew Haigh (“Weekend”) and Sarah Condon (“Bored to Death”), the show stars Jonathan Groff, Frankie J. Alvarez and Murray Bartlett. Special guest stars include Russell Tovey and Scott Bakula.”

We’ll be closely following Girls and Looking as they approach their respective season premieres.
