Due to the airing of the Super Bowl tomorrow night Girls airs tonight on HBO. Girls season 3, episode 5 “Only Child” picks up at the funeral of Hannah’s publisher David. Hannah is not the only one questioning her next step. The tides are changing for the ladies as the plans they set out with in episode 1 are starting to deteriorate.

Last week, Hannah’s editor David washed up on the banks of the Hudson. His sudden death sparks an exploration of Hannah’s self-centered personality through the eyes of her friends. Marnie takes a stand against her mediocre choices and quits working at Ray’s to move on to bigger and better things. Jessa takes time to mourn the loss of a friend, but discovers her friend lied about being dead to escape Jessa’s toxic personality.

Adam continues to battle with his sister’s lingering presence in the apartment, while Hannah struggles to figure out her next career move. After Millhouse drops all of David’s projects, Hannah’s ebook is no longer set for release. Meanwhile, Shosh’s balance of school and partying seems to catch up to her as Jessa’s presence begins to interrupt her academics.
