This season of Girls took Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna through a ringer of personal changes and tests of loyalty with each other and the people they keep close. Hannah, perhaps the most out of anyone, has experienced the greatest amount change, but it is still too early to say whether she will grow from it all.
Previously on ‘Girls’
With Adam’s big debut approaching, he decides that spending time away from Hannah and her “drama” is the best move for him right now. Hannah is not quite sure how this change will affect her relationship, since she thinks that Adam is viewing her more as a chore rather than a partner.
Jessa, coming down from her month or so spent riding a hazy drug rollercoaster with Jasper, remains under the watchful eye of Shoshanna. Her little intervention continues to show a side of Shoshanna not seen before her drunken outburst at the beach. Meanwhile, Marnie and her new musical partner Desi are writing sweet melodies, but the creative spark is giving Marnie the desire to do “it” not just “duet.”
This week on ‘Girls’
Elijah, Marnie, Hannah, and Shoshanna attend Adam’s big opening on the great white way. Jessa’s new job as an assistant to a prominent artist takes an interesting turn as her employer asks for an unusual favor. Shoshanna also needs to take a step back and examine the options for her future as she experiences an unexpected bump in her master plan to take over the business world.
Hannah and Adam’s careers may or may not decide the future of their relationship for them. At the start of the season it seemed like nothing could break up their domestic life, but as Adam grows in his career and Hannah receives yet another job opportunity, their relationship may move further down the list of things to invest their energy in.
