The third episode of HBO’s Girls season 2 just finished. Read a recap, and share your thoughts and comments here! It looks like Hannah’s finally got herself a gig as a writer, something we’ve been waiting on since the very first episode of season 1. But this new workplace is edgy, and they need her to do something outside of her comfort zone to write about.

On the quest for a good article, Hannah befriends her downstairs neighbor Laird, who sells her some cocaine. After slipping into some shorty-shorts and a fruit-patterned crop-top, Hannah decides to party hard with the drug, taking Elijah along for the ride.

The two end up at a rave where they continue to do coke off toilet seats (sometimes licking it right off the lid of the seat). Hannah eventually swaps her tank for another dancer’s see-through, mesh shirt. While having a bonding moment over another line, Elijah spills the secret that he had sex with Marnie.

Meanwhile, Marnie and Booth Jonathan meet again at Marnie’s new job as a club hostess. Since sexual tension has been building between the two since the first season of Girls, they inevitably arrive back at Booth’s swanky, art-filled apartment to do the deed.

Of course, Booth has to show off his finest works of art to Marnie beforehand, one of which is a chamber of televisions showing grotesque images of babies crying, growling wolves, and creepy maggots.

When Hannah and Elijah realize that Laird has been stalking them the whole time (he wants to protect Hannah “like the mom in Extremely Close and Extremely Loud“), the three head to Booth’s apartment. There, Hannah confronts Marnie and then promptly tells Elijah that he has to move out.

Laird takes Hannah back to their apartment building, where they share a lengthy makeout session… all for the sake of Hannah’s article, of course.

On the bright side, Ray and Shoshanna are doing splendidly, and Jessa seems content as well.

Here’s the description for next week’s episode, titled, “It’s a Shame About Ray”:

Hannah (Lena Dunham) hosts a grown-up dinner party to celebrate her writing gig, but her friends’ behavior doesn’t live up to the setting. Marnie (Allison Williams) and Audrey (Audrey Gelman) square off; Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) realizes she has inadvertently entered a new phase with Ray (Alex Karpovsky); Jessa (Jemima Kirke) meets Thomas-John’s (Chris O’Dowd) parents (Griffin Dunne, Deborah Rush).

What did you think of the episode?! Should Elijah move out? Is Marnie really a horrible friend?
