Gilmore Girls finally revealed the final four words! Did you love them? Did you hate them? And what exactly do they mean for the future?

It’s been 24 hours since Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life dropped the final four words on our lap. Reactions from across the world are pouring in as viewers inch toward the end of “Fall.”

Early in the Gilmore run, Amy Sherman-Palladino let it slip that she always knew the final fours words. From then on, fan theories ran wild. Would it be about coffee? Is it one person who says them? Or will it be a conversation between our two girls?

Spoilers for the final four words of ‘Gilmore Girls’ ahead!

The result was an exchange between Rory and Lorelai on the steps of the gazebo. With Rory in her pjs and Lorelai in her post-wedding bliss, Rory drops the bombshell:

Rory: “Mom?”
Lorelai: “Yeah.”
Rory: “I’m pregnant.”

Since these are the words that Amy Sherman-Palladino first wanted to end the series on, a few thoughts come to mind.

First, Rory would have been much younger than she is now when she spoke them. Second, was it always meant to be Logan? The original series kept that relationship viable for a long time leading to the creators’ departure from the show. It makes a certain amount of sense that Logan played a surprisingly large role in the revival.

Finally, is this the end of Gilmore Girls for real? It was a fun trip back to Stars Hollow, but can you really recapture lightening twice? Probably not.

Let’s see how fans felt about the final exchange between our girls.
