Get Out took box offices by storm thanks to its unique take on the horror/comedy genre, and now filmmaker Jordan Peele has his sights set on a new project.

In case you haven’t heard, Get Out is kind of a big deal. Dubbed as a social thriller, the movie follows Daniel Kaluuya, a young black man, as he meets his white girlfriend’s parents. Part horror, part comedy, the film is also a commentary on racism in America. It took over the box office and hasn’t look back since.

Peele is the genius behind the film and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has now signed a two-year first look deal with Universal.

Of the deal, THR says, “While the deal also calls for Peele to produce a wide range of projects, a very key aspect of the pact is Peele producing projects with the aim of giving a voice and opportunities to those traditionally under-represented in front and behind the camera, be it gender, race or sexual orientation.”

This means Peele will be working on another social thriller soon that will have “a larger canvas than Get Out as the budget will be about five times bigger.” For fans of Peele’s directorial debut, this is certainly exciting.
