George Clooney could soon be heading to Amazon for his next feature film project.

According to Deadline, Academy Award winner George Clooney is currently in talks to sign on to serve as director and producer of Amazon Studios’ upcoming feature, The Tender Bar.

The forthcoming project coming down the pipeline at Amazon Studios is based off of journalist and novelist J.R. Moehringer’s memoir of the same name.

Published in 2005, The Tender Bar finds Moehringer going through his childhood and early twenties, while dealing the coming of age milestones he experienced at a local Long Island bar owned by his uncle called the Publicans.

William Monahan, whose previous writing credits include The Departed and Edge of Darkness, has reportedly penned the script for the upcoming adaptation.

As for George Clooney, Amazon Studios has yet to confirm the Oscar winner’s involvement with the project.

If he board the film, Clooney would be producing through his Spokehouse Pictures production company alongside producing partner, Grant Heslov. In addition, Ted Hope would also serve as producer on the project.

Currently, George Clooney can be seen starring opposite Christopher Abbot and Kyle Chandler in Hulu’s mini series adaptation of Catch-22.

Coming up next, fans will also be able to catch him in the upcoming adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s novel, The Midnight Sky.

Starring Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), the post-apocalyptic drama focuses a lonely scientist named Augustine who’s living in the arctic. The film follows along on his plight to stop Sully and the other astronauts in her crew from returning to earth, where a mysterious global catastrophe has taken place.

For The Midnight Sky, George Clooney stars as Augustine. In addition, the actor also directed the film from a script written by Mark L. Smith.

The Midnight Sky is expected to debut sometime in 2020.
