In a new interview, Game of Thrones actor John Bradley, who plays Jon Snow’s friend Sam Tarly, talks about what his character will be facing in the second season. Beware of mild spoilers.

John Bradley reveals to SciFi Now that his character will be more prominent in the second season:

In this season he starts to experience emotions and certain feelings deep down inside him that you never thought he was capable of feeling. It’s really exciting, he kinda matures from a boy into a… half-man, I suppose!

Sam will be joining Jon on a perilous journey beyond the Wall, and Bradley says:

I think even though Sam crumbles under pressure quite a lot, I think the pressure is good for him and he’s going to change quite a lot. In the life that he leads, you’ve got to get used to pressure quite quickly, so it’s nice to have him experience everything – as bad as it possibly gets, as soon as it possibly can.

We can’t wait to see more of Samwell Tarly in season 2!
