HBO has announced a half-hour documentary, taking fans behind the scenes of Game of Thrones season 5.

Game of Thrones: Day in the Life will take viewers through one day of filming the epic fantasy series. Airing on Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m., the documentary covers the three-pronged production necessary to create Game of Thrones season 5.

The documentary will follow the cast and crew of “television’s biggest production” in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Dubrovnik, Croatia, and multiple locations in Spain. In addition to going behind the scenes, Game of Thrones: Day in the Life will, of course, offer a look at the characters and environments of Game of Thrones season 5 – both familiar and brand-new.

HBO has released a teaser for the documentary, which makes it clear that producing Game of Thrones season 5 is every bit as enormous an undertaking as fans might imagine.

The teaser for Game of Thrones: Day in the Life includes tantalizing new glimpses of the upcoming season. Cersei, Daenerys, and Jon Snow can all be seen in action, as can at least one of the Sand Snakes. The late Oberyn Martell’s bastard daughters are set to be a major new force in Game of Thrones season 5, as the kingdom of Dorne asserts their power in Westeros.

As the April debut of the fifth season draws closer, fans can expect more promotional material and in-depth looks at new characters and locations. Fresh footage from the social media game “The Sight” has been scant so far, but fans will soon have something more substantial to look forward to.

The first major preview for Game of Thrones season 5 will premiere in IMAX theaters across the U.S. next week. The preview will be prefaced by the final two episodes of the show’s fourth season – making Game of Thrones the first television show to be reformatted and screened in IMAX.

Game of Thrones season 5 premieres on Sunday, April 12 at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
