Maisie Williams shared a new clip from Game of Thrones season 5 when she visited Jimmy Kimmel last night.

The clip focuses on Arya’s attempts to find her footing in Braavos, the Free City to which she has fled from Westeros.

In the clip from the Game of Thrones season 5 premiere, “The Wars to Come,” Arya tries to gain entry to the House of Black and White. Unfortunately, the luck which brought her to Braavos seems to run out at the two-toned doors; neither her magic words nor her magic coin seem to help her gain entry to the guild of face-shifting assassins.

Still, we know that Arya’s fortunes will be changing in Braavos, as evidenced by an almost-unrecognizable new look she will debut later in the season.

Maisie Williams touches on the new look in the interview above, and confesses that she’s quite happy to finally get a costume change. She also admits that she hasn’t read the A Song of Ice and Fire novels on which Game of Thrones is based. But it’s really all for the best; fans of the book series have found themselves in an uncomfortable conundrum after recent confirmation that the show will spoil events of unpublished books.

In the rest of the interview, Williams discusses the unexpected perks of acting on Game of Thrones, and her experiences watching and performing in the show.

We can’t help but draw a parallel between Maisie’s experience meeting the Queen, and Arya’s experience meeting the leader of the House of Black and White. We suspect that Arya’s answer to the question “What do you do?” will have to be rather more brutally honest than Williams’ was to the Queen.

Game of Thrones season 5 premiers on Sunday, April 12 at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
