As Game of Thrones season 4 approaches, the key character of Yohn Royce has been cast, and a new indie band has been booked to record a song for the show.

Winter is Coming reports that seasoned British actor Rupert Vansittart, who has appeared on shows like Doctor Who and Heartbeat, has been cast as Lord Yohn Royce in Game of Thrones season 4.

This is significant news because Lord Royce (aka ‘Bronze Yohn’) is one of the suitors of Lysa Tully, Catelyn Stark’s sister, who rules the Vale with her son Robert.

Lysa and Robert last appeared in Game of Thrones season 1, and it seems the story will swing their way again in season 4.

Also for Game of Thrones season 4, EW reports that the Icelandic indie art-pop band Sigur Rós has been signed to appear in a scene filmed in Croatia.

This most likely means that they will be performing a song at King’s Landing… perhaps at a special celebration ceremony? Let the speculation begin. (But beware of spoilers!)

Game of Thrones season 4 premieres in the spring of 2014. It will span the second half of A Storm of Swords, the third book in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga.
