Game of Thrones season 4, episode 9 airs tonight on HBO! Check out the preview and everything else you need to know about the epic penultimate episode!

Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch will make what may be their final stand against the wildling onslaught when Game of Thrones season 4, episode 9 airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. The season’s penultimate episode, titled “The Watchers on the Wall,” promises to focus exclusively on the battle for Castle Black, paying close attention to both the defending Night’s Watch, and the attacking wildlings.

The official synopsis for “The Watchers on the Wall” says:

Jon Snow and the rest of the Night’s Watch face the biggest challenge to the Wall yet.

The dire straits at the Wall were emphasized in last week’s episode of Game of Thrones, when the wildlings viciously attacked the nearby village of Mole’s Town. Though Ygritte quietly spared Gilly’s life, Jon, Sam, and the Black Brothers grimly realized that they were Mance Rayder’s next target.

Elsewhere in the North, Theon/Reek played dress-up to secure Moat Cailin for Ramsay Snow, after which Roose finally legitimized his psychopath son. At the Eyrie, Arya and the Hound revealed shattering news while Sansa began winding Littlefinger around her own little finger by backing his story about Lysa. Meanwhile in Meereen, Ser Jorah’s role as a spy against Daenerys was tearfully revealed, and the knight was exiled in response.

And of course, down in King’s Landing, Oberyn Martell dueled Ser Gregor Clegane to determine Tyrion’s innocence. But the Red Viper actually wanted justice for his murdered sister Elia, and he refused to finish the Mountain before getting satisfaction. And then this happened:

And we are definitely still not remotely okay.

In any case, the preview for Game of Thrones season 4, episode 9 assures us that tonight’s episode will be relatively bloodless and tame.

Or, you know, the opposite of that.

But at least the still photos released from “The Watchers on the Wall” show us how Jon Snow gets that sexy hair.
