Plans are made and questions are answered in the preview and stills for Game of Thrones season 4, episode 4.

Men make plans, but the gods might just be laughing when Game of Thrones season 4, episode 4 airs on HBO. The episode, titled “Oathkeeper,” will focus on many characters making new moves in the wake of recent events – and the unexpected fruit born of choices made in the past.

The preview for Game of Thrones season 4, episode 4 starts off with a particularly grim proposal from the bereaved and revenge-bent Cersei Lannister.

After Cersei challenges Jaime to hunt down and kill Sansa, the preview cuts to Petyr Baelish offering Sansa a disturbingly relevant piece of information. Also in the preview, Tyrion begins to appreciate the nature of his predicament, Jaime and Jon struggle against expectations, Dany says something powerful, and Bran receives another disturbing vision.

All in all, it sounds like a typical day in Westeros.

The still photos released for “Oathkeeper” offer a glimpse at what these characters, as well as Hodor and Brienne, might be getting up to on Sunday evening.

The official synopsis for Game of Thrones season 4, episode 4 hints that not every character will react in the anticipated fashion – and suggests that certain characters far in the north may finally be able to sit down!

Dany balances justice and mercy. Jaime tasks Brienne with his honor. Jon secures volunteers while Bran, Jojen, Meera and Hodor stumble on shelter.

Shelter sounds very nice indeed. Unless there are White Walkers involved… but hey, what are the chances of that happening?
