Game of Thrones season 4, episode 3 airs tonight! Here’s a preview, and everything else you need to know about “Breaker of Chains.”

Update: Read our recap of Sunday’s new episode!

Old bonds will shatter under the weight of new pressures tonight, when Game of Thrones season 4, episode 3 airs on HBO. The episode, titled “Breaker of Chains,” will focus heavily on the aftermath of Joffrey’s suspiciously gruesome death at his own wedding feast, while also paying attention to Arya, the Night’s Watch, and Dany’s new approach in Meereen.

On last week’s episode of Game of Thrones, Melisandre burned heretics for Stannis, Bran touched a tree and saw a bunch of visions, and Roose Bolton turned his evil gaze toward Moat Cailin and Castle Black.

In King’s Landing, Tyrion broke up with Shae and sent her to Pentos right before Joffrey and Margaery’s wedding. At the wedding feast, everyone was sassy as hell, until Joffrey stopped the show by finally choking to death. Ser Dontos hustled Sansa away in the confusion, but Cersei immediately accused Tyrion of murdering Joff and had the Kingsguard take him into custody.

Dun, dun, dun!

The official synopsis for Game of Thrones season 4, episode 3 hints at limited options and unlikely alliances in the wake of the “Purple Wedding.”

Tyrion ponders his options. Tywin extends an olive branch. Sam realizes Castle Black isn’t safe, and Jon proposes a bold plan. The Hound teaches Arya the way things are. Dany chooses her champion.

And of course, the preview for “Breaker of Chains” makes it clear that life moves on beyond King’s Landing as well.

Chaos reigns in the North, while Stannis appears to reject even the suggestion of reasonability on Dragonstone. In Meereen, Dany gives another badass speech in Valyrian – but will she make a breakthrough?
