Watch a video interview with the Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss recorded at the San Diego Comic-Con, where they tease season 4.

The Game of Thrones cast and crew were at the San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend to tease season 4 of the HBO drama.

Creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, along with actors Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) and Kit Harington (Jon), sat down with EW to discuss the upcoming season, and promised that we have a lot to look forward to.

Benioff says in the interview, “I think it’s going to surpass season 3. The last three episodes, there’s so many scenes we’ve been waiting for so long to do. And it just gets more and more fun to write for these characters.”

Dinklage and Clarke chime in with praise for the season 4 scripts they have read, with Dinklage calling some of them, “my favorite so far of the whole series.”

We’ll leave book fans to puzzle over this curious comment from Benioff: “Season 5 gives me nightmares, but [not season 4].”

We’re just glad to hear that season 4 is shaping up to be the best one yet – as anyone who has read A Storm of Swords will tell you, there are some great moments to come.
