In tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones, Melisandre brought Gendry to Storm’s End to sacrifice him for Stannis – but first, she needed him to make her another shadow baby.
Stannis freed Davos and listened to his council, and they ended up taking some of Gendry’s blood with leeches. So he is safe – for now!
At King’s Landing, Tyrion and Sansa were married. Beforehand, he tried to reassure Sansa that marrying him wouldn’t be so bad. “I promise you one thing, my lady,” he said, “I won’t ever hurt you.” And after the ceremony, he refused to share her bed until she wanted him to.
In Yunkai, Daenerys met the three leaders of the Second Sons mercenaries. They didn’t take to her and privately decided to have her assassinated, but Daario Naharis turned on the other two and chose to fight for Dany instead.
Finally, Sam and Gilly encountered a White Walker in the night, and to everyone’s surprise, Sam slayed it!
And can you believe we’re already at the second to last episode of season 3? In two weeks, it’s time for episode 9, “The Rains of Castamere.” Watch the chilling promo below:
In previous Game of Thrones seasons, the ninth episode of a season has been the most anticipated, with the season finale serving to pick up the pieces and prepare us for the hiatus. We have a feeling this year will be much the same.
Game of Thrones is taking a week off, and season 3, episode 9 “The Rains of Castamere” will air Sunday, June 2 at 9/8c on HBO.
