USA Today has the first look at the Game of Thrones season 3 DVD/Blu-ray set, which is scheduled to hit store shelves in February.

In a sneak peek clip from the upcoming home entertainment release, we get to see a Game of Thrones season 3 feature where the Red Wedding is being set up. We hear how the set was laid out so that it could accommodate a happy atmosphere and then a horrific one.

Says star David Bradley in the behind-the-scenes look, “You don’t have to act power when you have a big, big chair. That gives you a head start. You just have to sit in it really.”

Adds episode director David Nutter, “When doing a sequence like this, you really want to hit the highs high because you know really how far and down it will become.”

The Blu-ray with HBO Select release includes all of the above as well as:

Game of Thrones season 3’s availability on DVD/Blu-ray has been long-awaited for those who don’t have access to HBO because the show is not even available for digital purchase.

We’ll be sure to share more details about Game of Thrones’ release as it approaches. Meanwhile, season 4 is currently filming and is expected to premiere in the spring.
