Watch the deleted scene from Game of Thrones season 3 which was shown to audience members at this year’s Comic-Con panel.

The scene was shown during the panel, and a fan has uploaded the video to YouTube:

In the clip, we get a rare look at Tywin Lannister taking a break from the scheming and plotting, sitting down on his own with a fishing rod.

Pycelle hobbles down to speak to him about council matters, only to be told that he is no longer on the council.

Tywin says that although he has taken over the Hand of the King responsibilities from Tyrion, he has not revoked Tyrion’s decrees.

Poor Pycelle struggles with his words, but Tywin tells him to shut up. “Am I the only one to see through this performance? Is it possible that so many could be so stupid for so long?”

And then, Pycelle drops his act. As we know, he is perfectly capable of clever thought and speak. He describes himself as a flower, who doesn’t seek to be the tallest of the brightest, but merely to remain in the garden.

Tywin then calls the council, “my council,” which is of course an interesting slip of the tongue.

Pycelle tries to convince him of his loyalty to House Lannister. “What will happen when we are no longer the strongest House?” Tywin muses while pulling in and beheading the fish he has caught.

Do you think that action is symbolic of Tywin’s move against House Tully and the killing of Catelyn later on in season 3?
