Season 2 of Game of Thrones has been released today, February 19, and on top of the 10 great episodes from the second season of the HBO series, there are also a multitude of special features to enjoy on the DVD:
- 12 commentaries from creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, the cast, and George R.R. Martin
- Game of Thrones: Inner Circle: David Benioff and D.B. Weiss moderate a panel with the main actors about shooting season 2
- Creating the Battle of Blackwater Bay: A 30-minute documentary about making the huge Blackwater episode
- The Religions of Westeros: George R.R. Martin narrates a video that explains the religions featured in the series.
And if you buy the Blu-ray, there’s even more bonus material:
- War of the Five Kings: An interactive guide to the wars of Westeros, hopefully making some sense of the kingdom’s complicated history
- Histories and Lore: This is a series of small, animated history lesson clips that explain some of the parts of Westeros that aren’t explored in the show, such as the Nine Free Cities, the First Men, and Valyria
- In-Episode Guide: Similar to commentaries, this feature will allow pop-up information and resources to appear during viewing.
