HBO made a few interesting announcements and comments during their panel at the Television Critics Assocation press tour on Thursday.

For starters, Lisa Kudrow will be making her Comeback this November. Season 2 is described as a new show-within-a-show dramedy in the vein “of Girls or Sex in the City“. Paulie G will be playing “a big new role.” Footage was screened for critics this afternoon and at least one fan of the original said season 2 “feels so right.”

“Valerie thinks she has it all figured out this time. She doesn’t,” reads the show’s log line. The series will have six episodes and is currently filming in Los Angeles.

Touching on True Detective season 2, HBO said that casting announcements will be made within the next week, and that there will likely be four “central” roles.

Critics were also curious about the future of Game of Thrones. HBO said that there have been no discussions about a movie despite rumors. “In my conversations with George, he’s 100 percent focused on the books and the show,” said HBO CEO Richard Plepler. They also said they weren’t concerned about the show outpacing the book series if George R.R. Martin can’t write the books fast enough.

However, they won’t rule out a Game of Thrones movie down the road.

HBO also announced today that Beyonce and Jay Z’s “On The Run” tour will be turned into a concert special. Learn more in our report from earlier today.
