News broke today that Game of Thrones fans can look forward to yet another game, this one a massive online RPG!

The Hollywood Reporter writes that HBO will be developing this free to play, massive multiplayer online role playing game with German company Bigpoint, to be based on the TV series.

Bigpoint has developed a similar game of Battlestar Galactica, which you can play online here to perhaps get a feel for how the Game of Thrones RPG will be set up.

Bigpoint CEO Heiko Hubertz has said of the project:

With a rich and complex story, expressed through an amazing level of detail, it’s easy to see why the HBO series Game of Thrones has amassed an army of fans worldwide. We intend to build a game that resonates intimately with its diehard community of followers, while also creating an authentic gaming experience that attracts newcomers to the franchise.

Such a rich story like Game of Thrones definitely lends itself well to a MMORPG experience, and hopefully this game will allow players to completely immerse themselves in the world of Westeros. Are you looking forward to playing this game?
