Actress Maisie Williams has posted her second video blog, sharing her thoughtful New Year’s resolutions on YouTube.

Williams, who stars on HBO’s Game of Thrones as Arya Stark, made the vlog to add some accountability to her resolutions.

“I feel like, if I confess them on my channel and put them on the internet, I’m more likely to stick with them,” she says.

Williams is refreshingly candid in her vlog, addressing what she sees as personal shortcomings and resolving to be more generous with her time and judgment. She hopes to become less competitive in the new year (“It totally takes away from me wanting to do better,” she observes) and to be more helpful to her mother.

Like many of us, Williams also resolves to read more, and explore storytelling through a textual — rather than visual — medium. She admits that she often feels inarticulate in interviews, though she is certainly well-spoken in her vlog.

Williams’ final resolution is another extremely relatable goal. “Stop trying to be something you’re not!” she tells herself. “I am 5’1″, with a circular face and short, brown choppy hair. And in 2016, I hope to learn to embrace that.”

“I hope you guys do too,” Williams concludes. “Because being yourself, and being happy is the most beautiful thing.”

Maisie Williams posted her first vlog back in September, and is self-deprecating about her newness to the medium. But her frank, funny, and heartfelt approach makes her a natural, and it’s refreshing to see a young actress address herself with such wisdom and wit. Hopefully, 2016 will bring more “Random Moments of Madness” from Williams.
