In a new interview, Game of Thrones star Kit Harington talks about the bigger budget of season 3, and compares it to the show’s first season.

Speaking to Collider, Harington previews his new films Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (which also stars Sean Bean) and The Seventh Son, and also talks about the third season of Game of Thrones.

He says in the interview that the series’ bigger budget is noticeable for the actors as they’re shooting. He explains, “I’ll put it this way: season one was a big impact season, season two was more story, season three is another impact season.”

Fans of the show may be happy with this news, as season 1 seems to have blown people away in a way which season 2 – as visually and emotionally spectacular as it was – didn’t quite do to the same extent. And there are some big things coming in the third season (which roughly covers the first half of A Storm of Swords, the third novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga by George R.R. Martin) which will really benefit from a bigger budget!

Harington of course can’t give away plot details, but does tease that, “there’s some wonderful stuff coming in this season which is gonna grab people, especially if they don’t know what’s coming… So I’d say enjoy it, because this season is my favorite season so far.”
