Jon Snow is a terrible dinner guest in a hilarious segment from Late Night With Seth Meyers.

In the skit, an incredibly game Kit Harington dons his Night’s Watch blacks and craggy accent to take on a challenge Jon Snow has never faced: Polite small talk at a dinner party.

As host, Seth Meyers tries to coach the Bastard of Winterfell through the art of murderless modern communication. Seth’s efforts prove somewhat unequal to Jon’s ridiculously gloomy outlook, however.

The dinner party is rife with references to Westerosi politics (and one minor error in detail — poor Robb Stark was murdered at Edmure Tully’s wedding, not his own!). The slightly disastrous dinner picks up when Jon recounts the story of his recent travails, which coincide with the start of Game of Thrones.

It was the re-ennactment we never knew we needed.

A rather more collected (but still somewhat Eyore-ish) Kit Harington also appears in an interview with Seth Meyers to promote Game of Thrones season 5. Harington discusses the ups and downs of filming in Belfast, as well as an interesting choice he’s made for this season.

According to Harington, he decided to read only his segments of the scripts for Game of Thrones season 5, keeping the myriad of other storylines a surprise.

“I thought this season, I just wanted to see what the hype was about,” he deadpans. “I wanted to see if it was actually as gripping as everyone keeps banging on about.”

Spoiler warning, Kit — it totally is.

Jon Snow’s dinner party disaster isn’t the only recent spoof of HBO’s epic fantasy series in the run-up to Game of Thrones season 5. Sesame Street also gave their own adorable spin on the sex-and-violence-filled show in a skit called “Game of Chairs.” For a series filled with monsters both real and metaphorical, it was an eerily apt adaptation.

The Game of Thrones season 5 premiere, “The Wars to Come,” airs on Sunday, April 12 at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
