In a new interview, Emilia Clarke discusses the return of Game of Thrones and playing a strong female character.

Speaking to SciFi Now at the season 1 DVD launch, Emilia talks about the second season, saying:

I saw episodes one and two the other night and it’s phenomenal – I’m so proud. I feel like it’s even better than season 1, actually.

On playing Daenerys Targaryen:

It’s unusual for a young girl to play this kind of character, as well. With this whole experience I try and take each day as it comes, and not take too many steps back otherwise it’ll get so daunting I’ll feel like I’m going to break down, but it’s the same with Dany – it’s less that I look at her on a big scale and think, ‘My goodness, there’s so much to deal with!’, I take each scene as it comes and try and keep to the truth of her and that sort of keeps me going.
