George R.R. Martin details his presence at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2013, which includes at Game of Thrones panel with the cast and crew!

A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin has updated This Is Not A Blog with a notice about his panel and signings at SDCC.

The Game of Thrones panel at Comic-Con is scheduled for Friday, July 19 at 2:50-3:45 EST in Hall H.

Martin writes, “I’ll be joined on the panel by half a dozen cast members (no, don’t know which ones yet) and David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss].”

However, if we were placing our bets on any cast member appearing, we’d go with Kit Harington (Jon Snow).

The actor is already scheduled to appear on the “Brave New Warriors” actor panel on Thursday, July 18 at 4:45 EST in Ballroom 20, alongside Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), and David Giuntoli (Grimm).

Note that there will also be several signing opportunities with George R.R. Martin at the convention.

Following the Game of Thrones panel, you can find Martin at the WB booth. He’ll also be in the official autograph area on Saturday, July 20, from 11:00-12:00 AM.

Further, he’s also working on autograph sessions for Avatar Comics’ adaptation of his novella The Skin Trade, and the 2014 A Song of Ice and Fire calendar with artist Gary Gianni.

Finally, Martin asks fans to respect his privacy, and only approach him for autographs at one of these four signing events.

Answering a blog comment question about whether he misses the anonymity from before his series became mainstream, Martin writes, “I do, actually. There was a time when I would walk the floor at [Comic-Con] for hours, checking out the booths, visiting friends, buying books and comic books. No more. Now I need security.”
