Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks and Scandal‘s Kerry Washington are among the Hollywood stars wishing they could be on Game of Thrones. But who would they play?

Leading up to the Emmys 2013, The Hollywood Reporter has released an interview with 21 of this year’s nominated actresses, where they discuss their characters and reveal what other TV shows they’d like to star on.

Not surprisingly, Game of Thrones was a popular answer amongst the nominees.

Christina Hendricks, who might be looking for a new gig once Mad Men ends next year, lists both Homeland and Thrones as her dream shows to appear on.

“I want to be on Homeland because I love the suspense of it,” she explains, “but I also want to be on Game of Thrones. I want to wear pelts and horns and ride around on horseback.

Sounds like she’d make a great wildling – and hey, at the risk of spoiling future books in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga for the unsullied, it’s probably safe to say that there’ll be a few of those popping up in the next couple of seasons. Val, anyone?

Scandal‘s lead actress Kerry Washington admits in the interview that, “I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan, but I also fantasize about a celebrity Amazing Race.”

Now, who could Washington play on Game of Thrones? Again, a number of characters from future books in the saga spring to mind, particularly Arianne Martell.

Christine Baranski of The Good Wife fame doesn’t have a specific role in mind either, but does imagine a role would allow her to, “release my inner bitch.”

Whatever else Game of Thrones is, it’s certainly full of characters that fit this description!

“It reminds me of classical acting we did at Juilliard,” Baranski continues, explaining why she loves the HBO series. “There’s something unabashed about that style.”

And finally, Emilia Clarke, Supporting Actress nominee and actual star of Game of Thrones, was also interviewed for this piece.

Clarke admits that Daenerys Targaryen is, “definitely more fearless” than herself, and that she struggles with the different fictional languages she has to learn and master.

As for her dream Game of Thrones guest star, she picks Cate Blanchett. “If she could just come in and be a Targaryen,” Clarke gushes. “And Cate Blanchett’s son should be Ryan Gosling, whom I would have to marry.”

And hey, who knows? The dragon has three heads, after all.

Game of Thrones season 4 premieres in the spring of 2014.
