George R.R. Martin, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, and other cast and crew of Game of Thrones have faced the winds of winter – or anyway, a bucket of ice water – with the popular charity challenge.
HBO’s Game of Thrones gives fans chills in every episode. But as the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS research has exploded across the internet, the cast and crew of the shocking show gave themselves goosebumps as they stepped up to get soaked.
Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) was one of the first cast members to be challenged, and posted her participation on her Instagram account.
Turner passed the challenge on to her former costar Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell), who gamely took the splash as well.
In turn, Pascal nominated Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) to take Ice Bucket Challenge. Headey took the challenge along with Kit Harington (Jon Snow) – himself nominated by Joe Dempsie – and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister)
Not to be outdone, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) took an Arya-like splash on a precarious windowsill.
And Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) found herself nominated in chilly England. Fire cannot kill a dragon, but what about ice water?

Clarke’s nomination of Harington has already been taken care of, but Alfie Allen and Rose Leslie are still wearing their ice bucket targets.
At the same time, author George R.R. Martin found himself nominated for the Ice Bucket Challenge by a nearly-naked Neil Gaiman, and complied while quoting his own scripture.
“Winter came!” Martin laughs in the video. “And I didn’t even win the Super Bowl!”
That’s because you’re a Jets fan, George.
Among Martin’s own nominees was former Game of Thrones cast member Sibel Kekilli (Shae) who tackled the challenge yesterday.
After regaining her breath, Kekilli went for the big guns in her nominations, tapping co-star Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss for the Ice Bucket Challenge. Will they take it on?
