Changes are coming to Westeros! If you play the Facebook game Game of Thrones: Ascent you’ll be excited to know that weekly updates will be coming along with new episodes from season 3.
In a press release sent today Disruptor Beam, creator of Game of Thrones: Ascent, announced that along with every new episode to come out this season the game will be getting updated so you can live through the same experience as your favorite characters and make your own choices!
The first expansion for the game, Episode 1: Valar Dohaeris, went live today. These expansions will be released every Monday and directly tie into the episode aired the previous Sunday. For example, if you play the game today you’ll now be able to travel from King’s Landing and across the Narrow Sea to Beyond The Wall in dozens of brand new quests based off the premiere.
The team behind the game also released a bunch of new stills from season 3 updates of the game, and we have to say we’re pretty excited to be playing them every Monday!

So far, Game of Thrones: Ascent has loosely followed the events of seasons 1 and 2 of Game of Thrones, bringing players across the Dothraki sea and into the brunt of an attack by White Walkers. The game has also kept players engaged by granting corresponding powers as the story progresses – most recently an Alchemists Guild offering wildfire and fiery archers for all your Blackwater needs.
We’re excited to see what season 3 will bring to the table, and we’re glad that we won’t have to wait too long after an episode airs to be able to play!
