Hypable’s Game of Thrones podcast Game of Owns is participating in a fun fandom event themed around the fan-favourite character Hodor!

If you’re a frequent Hypable visitor you’ll know about Game of Owns, the podcast we are producing in cooperation with the Game of Owns website. As the HBO series is currently in the middle of the excruciatingly long hiatus, we are making our way through the first book in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga, A Game of Thrones.

But we’ve got other exciting things planned, and Hodor Week is one of them! We’ll let Zack, one of the co-hosts of the podcasts, explain it all:

“Welcome to the ground floor.”

This year, on the fifth of November, we are proud to officially commence the first ever “Hodor Week” — an annual celebration of the fictional character “Hodor” from HBO’s television series Game of Thrones, an adaptation of the epic fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. Have you guys ever heard of him?

Here is the plan.

Each year, Hodor-enthusiasts from across the Internet will participate in a week-long virtual festival of all things him, including but not limited to: Book and television highlights, special themed podcast/video programming, and a vast selection of amazing fan-created media promoted and published by participating fan communities and sources.

If I could be reasonable for a moment, it would be fair to say that I share around 4,000 laughs every week with Selina, Micah, and Eric the more and more we read into these books, watch the show, and see the incredible things so many of you have sent our way. Hodor is a staple of what we hope will be a very laugh-and-good-time-filled community, with carriage loads of longevity.

This is a celebration of one of the Internet’s favorite Game of Thrones related themes, and we would absolutely love for you to join us.

We have some exciting things planned, and can’t wait to share them with you.
