Galavant ended its limited run on a cliffhanger. But what could we expect to see from the show if it gets picked up for a second season?

If you love your musicals with a dash of fairytale flare, and some whimsical storytelling, then chances are high that you tuned in to Galavant during its four-week run on ABC. It featured some delightfully hilarious cameos, catchy tunes that we’re still singing day-to-day and just the right amount of unapologetic cheese. But one thing that was missing from Galavant’s finale was a conclusion to its eight episode tale.

As the Jester serenaded us through the dying moments of the finale, what felt like countless questions started racing through our heads. Not least of which was, Would we ever see a second season to resolve everything that was left as a loose end? We’re certainly hoping that ABC decides to give it another shot, if only to see the characters find their happily ever afters — or comeuppance, depending.

So, without further ado, here is our list of things we’d like to see play out in a second season — and find a satisfying conclusion.

This article will contain spoilers for the Galavant finale.

The Adventures of Gal and Richard

After being shipped off to safety by Gareth, Galavant and Richard will need to survive without the respective “brains” of their operations. And we all know exactly how that turned out for them — poorly, but with hilarious results. If a second season could gift us with more of their drunken misadventures, before returning to inevitably take back the kingdom, then sign us up now!

Escape from the Barbie Dreamhouse

The course of true love never did run smooth. With Galavant and Isabella separated, the princess had no choice but to turn to her fiancé for refuge. Her young cousin gifted her with a room that he’d built especially for her, which she would never need to leave. Creepy! We can’t imagine Isabella will sit idly by to wait for Galavant to come to her rescue, and we’d love to see her hatch an escape plan. Both from the Dreamhouse and her impending marriage to her cousin.

Long Live the Queen (and her new, new king)

After killing Richard’s brother, Madalena secured control of Valencia — and appointed Gareth as her new king. Gareth proved himself a cunning match for Madalena during the finale, and together they’d be practically unstoppable. The queen will conquer, and with Gareth at her side, she has her sword. We’re eager to see just what these two would be able to achieve together — and whether the return of Richard would bring Gareth back to his side. Or will he, much like Madalena, get used to the life of luxury that comes with being a royal?

Save the Squire

Poor Sid. As the rest of Madalena’s prisoners escaped Valencia, Sid remained behind as leverage for Gareth. But what will become of him in the custody of the new king and queen? Could he live up to his hometown potential and find himself a hero — escaping by his own wits, and riding off to rescue Isabella and the others from her creepy cousin? Or will he remain in Valencia at Gareth’s mercy? Of course, there’s always the possibility that Madalena will take a shine to him — there are slim pickings, now that there’s no one else left around.
