FX has finally released a teaser with a release date for their new series, What We Do in the Shadows.

Many of us love the Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement-starring film, What We Do in the Shadows. It’s a hilarious “documentary” about the everyday lives of vampires living in New Zealand. So when it was announced that FX would be working with Waititi and Clement to bring us a series based on the movie, we got pretty excited.

However, for the longest time, information surrounding the show was pretty scarce. Thankfully, FX has blessed us all with a brand new teaser for the show, and they’ve finally given us a release date!

The trailer starts out pretty menacingly but quickly takes a turn for the silly. It’s the perfect way to describe What We Do in the Shadows–sure, it’s a show about vampires, which seem menacing, but everything quickly takes a turn for the silly in the movie. We’re glad that the series seems to be keeping that same spirit alive.

Of course, this isn’t the first teaser we’ve seen for the show. FX released a few teasers around Halloween that played up the ridiculous nature of a show following the lives of vampires living in modern-day America. From going grocery shopping to the delicate nature of using common colloquialisms like “fingers crossed” around vampires, the life of a modern vampire is a complex one.

While the idea of adapting such a well-loved, cult classic film like What We Do in the Shadows into an American television series made a lot of fans nervous, these teasers make it seem like this show is going to be great. Even though Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement aren’t starring in the series, it looks like their influence is all over this show, and will prove to be a hilarious addition to the What We Do in the Shadows universe.

Even better, you won’t have to wait much longer to check out the show for yourself. The series premieres on FX this March.
