‘Mayans Mc’:

In 2018 FX will be premiering Mayans MC for a 10-episode season, as a spinoff of Sons of Anarchy. Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions made the announcement, saying, “Kurt Sutter is a master storyteller and Mayans MC has the raw energy and intensity that are hallmarks of his signature style.”

“Thanks to Kurt, co-creator Elgin James and this amazing cast, Mayans MC builds on the legacy of Sons of Anarchy, taking it in a thrilling new direction that we can’t wait for the world to see.”

The new series will star Edward James Olmos, JD Pardo, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta.

‘Fargo’ season 4:

FX spoke about Fargo at the TCA’s and although it’s not officially renewed, season 4 is in development according to TV Line. FX CEO John Landgraf stated, “Noah, who’s become quite a busy bee, not only with Legion [but with novels and features, too] has told us that he has an idea, which excites me enormously, for a fourth cycle.”

He also revealed that their current plan is to have Fargo season 4 ready for 2019.

‘Legion’ season 2:

Not much was revealed about Legion season 2, but it looks like fans can expect the show to be just as trippy as it was in season 1. The series is expected to premiere in April, but an exact date is still TBD.

Although it wasn’t part of the presentation, The Wrap later confirmed that Bryan Singer has been removed as executive producer on the series due to the sexual misconduct accusations against him.

‘Trust’:

It sounds like the most exciting thing to come out of the Trust panel was Brendan Fraser’s cowboy hat.

‘Atlanta’ season 2:

Atlanta season 2 is being titled Atlanta: Robbin’ Season. And according to Donald GLover it is also inspired by Tiny Toons Adventures. The cast didn’t want to give away too many details on the season but they did reveal that the season will tackle the transition the characters go through as they rise to fame.

‘Pose’:

During the Pose panel, Ryan Murphy revealed the reason that Tatiana Maslany exited the show was because of a decision to change the age of her character. TV Line revealed that Murphy said, “When we got into shooting the pilot, it just became apparent to me [that Tatiana is] a very young woman,”

“I felt that, working with our young cast, we needed an older figure in that world to be the dance teacher. Someone who was a different generation, who was more of a mentor… We needed a Debbie Allen [in Fame-type] character. We all agreed that that was the right choice for the show.”

A very personal moment from Murphy’s life also made it into the series. The creator revealed that Damon’s coming out story is based on his own, when his father beat him with a belt for coming out as gay.

He also noted that he would not have allowed non-trans actors to play trans roles, and believes it’s time to make opportunities for new talent.

More to come when the FX TCAs continue later this afternoon!
