Yet another YA title has been scooped by Hollywood.  This time, Elizabeth Miles’ interesting tale of the Furies has been optioned by CBS.

As reported by the Bangor Daily News, Fury takes place in Maine and is set to be a trilogy.  The first installment was released in August with another set to release next summer.

From the Bangor Daily News:

Published at the end of August, “Fury” has enjoyed excellent reviews by well-known fiction authors such as Lauren Kate and Nancy Holder, and CBS Films has scooped up the film rights to the action-packed story. “Stephen King-meets-Twilight in this new sexy series,” according to the book’s official website, thefuryseries.com.

Keep in mind: Just because a story is set in Maine and the author was originally from Maine does not a Stephen King comparison make. I have read Fury and there isn’t very much to relate it to Twilight either.  It has a boy and a girl and a supernatural being, but that is about where the comparisons end. I think Fury will make an interesting TV show or film but the book itself took a long time to hit its stride.

Have you read Fury? What do you think about the option news and the book?
