As I continue my watching West Wing for the first time, I’m not only continually surprised by the emotional depth of the show, but also just how freaking funny it is!
The West Wing season 2 got off to a rough start when we found out that Josh, who also happens to be my favorite character thank you very much, was shot and nearly died.
In fact, the season was bookended by tragedy when the esteemed Mrs. Landingham met her end in a car crash perpetrated by a drunk driver. I nearly gave up on the show right then and there. Is no one safe? Is nothing sacred? My heart can’t handle this kind of loss.
Luckily, The West Wing has a secret weapon in its back pocket. I always knew this show was going to be smart and powerful, but never did I think it would make me laugh as much as it makes me cry.
So, in honor of those funny scenes that kept me going even when the road ahead was bleak, here are the best West Wing season 2 moments that made me laugh.
