Over two months after release, Frozen is still breaking records left and right. Today, it tops the $350 million mark at the U.S. box office.

This is a feat that only 26 other movies have ever done, and only five other animated movies. Frozen is the only original animation (not a sequel) to have grossed $350 million in a single run – both Lion King and Finding Nemo required re-releases to pass that milestone (though to be fair, inflation and 3D have helped Frozen out a lot).

Frozen has recently surpassed such mega-hits as 2010’s Alice in Wonderland, Shrek 3, Spiderman 3, Forrest Gump, and the first two Lord of the Rings movies. With the Sing-Along entering theaters this weekend, surpassing Despicable Me 2 for #1 Animated Film of 2013 seems like a forgone conclusion.

Worldwide, Frozen just topped the $800 million mark, the forty-second film (and eighth animated film) to ever do so. In the process, it surpassed Shrek the Third, among other films. With the Sing-Along, there is a chance Frozen could make $1 billion worldwide – a monumental feat.

The Frozen soundtrack, meanwhile, returned to the #1 spot on the Billboard 200, scoring a third week on top. No soundtrack to a theatrically released movie has had three weeks at #1 in over a decade, and the only other animated film soundtrack to achieve that was Lion King. The last soundtrack to any movie to spend three weeks at #1 was Disney Channel’s High School Musical 2 back in 2007. The soundtrack has sold three quarters of a million copies so far.

Idina Menzel’s single “Let It Go” just missed out on the top twenty on the Hot 100 this week, landing at #21. But it is in the top ten on Hot Digital Songs. “Let It Go” was nominated for Best Song at the Oscars, having won that at the Critics Choice Awards, but lost at the Golden Globes.

Frozen also received a nomination for Best Animated Film at the Oscars – an award it already won at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, Producers Guild Awards, and many others. Frozen has seen so much success on the awards circuit, Wikipedia saw fit to create a separate page just for Frozen’s many awards!

Are you happy for Frozen’s continued success? Are you planning on contributing further to its record-breaking run by seeing the Sing-Along?
