In addition to today’s Frozen trailer, the first four photos from Disney’s next animated film were released.

The Frozen photos offer our first look at Disney’s winter wonderland and the storyline’s lead characters.

The images premiered on USA Today, and each one included details about the scene.

This first photo depicts Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) finding her sister Elsa (Idina Menzel), who created a curse that caused a permanent winter in the Kingdom of Arendelle. “Anna tries to convince Elsa that her place is back at home,” Bell said to USA Today. “That it doesn’t matter how you stumble, your home is with me.”

Pictured above, Anna meets with the charming suitor Hans (Santino Fontana).”This is a big film with an epic story. But there’s always a little romance in these,” says Lee. “You cannot help it, and it’s fun.”

Josh Gad voices the snowman Olaf, who appeared opposite the reindeer in the new Frozen trailer. The character appears to be a big part of the story’s comic relief. “Josh brings humor to every scene,” co-director Chris Buck said.

“You like to give your lead characters humor, fun and some flaws,” co-director Chris Buck said when noting that all of the characters bring humor. “You can’t rely only on the sidekicks for that. So you don’t have these perfect lead characters you might have had in the past.”

In the above photo, Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff) rides his reindeer Sven who features in the Frozen trailer. “Sven is quite strong and able to carry humans. And the two are best buds,” said co-director Jennifer Lee. “But as a reindeer, he doesn’t talk — or fly.”

Frozen opens in theaters this November in the United States and in December in the United Kingdom.

Thanks, USA Today.
