Tuesday, Disney’s Frozen achieved a monumental milestone: it crossed the $300 million mark at the U.S. box office.

This is a feat that less than fifty films have ever done – and the only other Disney movie to have achieved that feat is The Lion King. That’s right, Frozen has surpassed the rest of Disney’s biggest blockbusters, like Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, and even Aladdin!

To illustrate what rarefied company Frozen is in, here are the only other animated films to surpass the $300M milestone: Shrek 2 and 3, Toy Story 3, Despicable Me 2, and Finding Nemo. The fact that Frozen is not a sequel makes this feat even more impressive. And Disney Animation now has two $300M movies, same as Pixar and Dreamworks.

Worldwide, Frozen has made $642 million, second only to the Lion King among Disney’s animated films. And it is still raking in money – there is a chance it will surpass Despicable Me 2 to claim the title of 2013’s #1 animated movie.

But that’s not all the good news for Frozen this week! The original soundtrack for Frozen was the #1 album in the U.S. this past week. Surprisingly, animated movies that spawn #1 soundtracks is an even more exclusive club! Frozen is only the fifth movie to do so, following Lion King (which really was insanely successful), Pocahontas, Cinderella, and (oddly enough) 2006’s Curious George.

All those soundtracks, except Curious George, had a song nominated for a Best Song Oscar, and Frozen will doubtlessly follow suit. Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go” is the #27 song on the Hot 100 this week. Frozen’s soundtrack has already sold just over half a million copies, enough to certify the album Gold. Frozen is the first film to be #1 at the box office and have the #1 album since Hunger Games achieved both in March 2012.

But there is even more good news for Frozen this week. It won “Best Animated Feature” at two prestigious film award ceremonies on Tuesday: the North Texas Film Critics Association’s Awards and the Oklahoma Film Critics Circle Awards.

Perhaps it’s appropriate that Frozen is meeting with such success this week – it seems like the entire country has frozen over in the film’s honor!

Are you happy to see Frozen meeting with such success? And how many times have you seen it so far?
