Frozen has climbed to sixth in the all-time worldwide box office. Can it go any higher?
According to Box Office Mojo, Frozen made enough money to leapfrog both The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and Transformers: Dark of the Moon to take the sixth place in the all-time worldwide box office. Previously it sat in eighth place above Skyfall.
Frozen‘s total gross at the box office now is now $1.1292 billion. How high can it go? It’s unlikely, but not impossible, that it will go further. At $1.2154 billion, Iron Man 3 has an over $85 million lead on Frozen, and that’ll be a gap that will be hard to close.

As it is in the top 10 grossing films ever, Frozen is the top grossing animated film of all-time, and it just keeps bringing in the money.

Disney has said that the DVD and Blu-ray release has been one of the biggest selling home entertainment successes in at least a decade. They haven’t released those numbers, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Frozen at least a few more places higher on that list. It’s a movie people are wanting to see again and again, and it truly is a great success for Disney.
Disney is obviously looking at ways to continue banking on the success of Frozen, and one of those options will include a Frozen musical on Broadway. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see a sequel to Frozen, especially after Wreck-it Ralph, another recent Disney animated film, was announced as having a second movie in the works.
