In a new video interview, Fringe star Joshua Jackson talks Peter’s latest betrayal, and how it will affect his relationships with Walter and Olivia.

In the last episode of Fringe, we saw Peter go to extreme measures while on his rampage to avenge his daughter Etta’s death.

He installed an Observer chip in his brain, which will, as Joshua Jackson puts in in a Fox Network feature interview, take him straight to “Observerville.”

Even though we’ll see Olivia begin to reach out to him in tomorrow night’s episode, Peter is, “not in a good place,” Jackson says. “He’s doing exactly the thing he promised both Walter and Olivia that he wasn’t going to do, to basically abandon them… and he’ll be hell-bent on avenging the death of his daughter.” He’ll go to a “pretty dark place,” and won’t be bothered by the moral implications.

You can expect to see Peter become drunk on the power, and “Peter as we know him is very rapidly slipping away.” We’re seeing the son commit the same mistake as the father did, even though Peter vowed to Olivia that he’d be a better man than Walter. Hopefully that will lead to a good confrontation between Walter and Peter before the end.

In the video, Jackson also reflects that, “It’s kind of where the fans wanted him to go last year,” and he’s very excited to see where it goes.
