Watch a sneak peek for Friday’s Fringe episode “The Bullet That Saved the World,” in which an Observer gets a read on Peter.

In the clip, Peter is out on the street getting gas from a car, and enters a shop where he encounters an Observer who knows that he’s looking for a necklace for, “A young blonde woman.” The Observer reads his mind, and Peter tries to think about baseball to block his mind. Peter escapes out into the street, running from the people who try to arrest him.

As the sneak peek implies, this is going to be a big turning point episode for Peter. Speaking to Give Me My Remote, showrunner Joel Wyman teases that the episode, “Will put things into perspective” for the audience, and further the characters’ individual odysseys.

He also teases Etta’s abilities – such as being able to block the Observers from reading her mind – saying, “that is something that is very useful for somebody that is working both sides of the street. That comes in very handy for her.”

“The Bullet That Saved the World” is also the episode in which Broyles returns. Wyman teases that the episode, “will clarify where he’s been, what his attitudes are, what kind of a person he is. How viable he finds the team.” As for his motives, “he loves everybody, I do believe. That’s how I feel about it,” Wyman says.

Further, TV Guide has provided an intriguing spoiler about the episode, writing, “There’s a sweet reunion that will warm your heart. [But] there’s an emotional death that will drive you to rant on Twitter.” They also impry that the two incidents may be related, which makes us very worried for Broyles!
