Yesterday, the cast and showrunner of Fringe appeared at the Television Critics’ Association for a panel discussing the upcoming fifth season on the show. Read a summary of what happened here!

Joshua Jackson, Anna Torv, Lance Reddick and showrunner Joel Wyman were all in attendance. Give Me My Remote was there to report the events, which included a message from J.J. Abrams, and reminiscing by cast members.

Joel Wyman said of the upcoming season:

What the goal of season 5 is, from where I’m sitting, is we’ve done so much work to get people invested in the mythology… but at the root of it all, these people are what our fans care about. […] I truly believe that the show has a natural end. It’s something we know is right. But how that takes shape is always in flux.

They also praise John Noble’s acting, and Wyman said:

I’m sitting in that editing room, going, ‘What?’ What he’s doing, I can’t comprehend it. I’m trying to believe that the cream will rise to the top. I have to believe that.

Also revealed was that Lance Reddick originally auditioned for the role of Charlie.
