We’ve gotten yet another glimpse at how Observers run the world in the latest protocol all about residency.
The past week or so we’ve gotten two protocol videos from the Observers concerning cerebral scans and travel. Now they bring us a whole new video about residency, and it’s riddled with hidden messages from the Rebellion.
Let’s take a look at what these hidden messages mean, shall we? You can take a look at all of them in the gallery below.
First we get the text “End the Oppression” on the introductory logo, which lets us know that the Rebellion is behind this, as that’s almost become its motto. We then get a glimpse of the words “Is this the American way?” which leads us to believe that either this rebellion is just for America or the Observers have only taken over America. Granted, you’d think that the other nations would give America a helping hand, so it probably means the former.
After a blank screen with the word “resist,” we get a particularly cool shot of Etta’s identification when the Observer mentions that all residents must have it on them at all times. When we see the QR code on the far right we couldn’t help but think about how advanced technology has gotten in the next twenty-four years and they’re still using QR codes!
We then get the first two phrases repeated, albeit in a different manner. The second phrase “Is this the American way?” appears to be over Observers with gas masks on, which is the second time we’ve seen this imagery since the travel protocol video. Are they foreshadowing to some sort of plan of attack for the Observers involving gas, maybe?
And once again we get the mysterious text in three separate stills, with no idea to what they could possibly mean. Is this an ancient language or a brand new one they’ve invented to communicate with other rebels? We’re not sure, but one thing is for certain: We can’t wait to find out!
